Polis Chrysochous · Cyprus · Twenty Years of Excavation
This jar of Red Polished III ware shows rare decoration on its shoulder. Red
Polished and Red Slip wares begin in the Early Bronze Age and continue to be
produced well into the Middle Bronze Age. Our example with the tripod feet falls
at the transition from CEB III to CMB I, that is slightly after 2000 B.C. The
decoration is rare in pattern and technique.
From rescue excavations.
