Postdoctoral Fellowship in Environmental Engineering/Regional Innovation Systems/Urban Futures/Eco-Innovation for Sustainable Cities
The Econoving International Chair in Generating Eco-Innovation is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct research in technical or social innovations aimed at supporting the development of sustainable cities. We welcome applications from candidates with recently completed Ph.D.s in science, applied science, and social science and humanities disciplines, proposing applied research projects oriented toward innovation in energy, water, waste, construction and transport in cities, together with associated issues in law, finance, and social acceptability of technological and social innovations. This fellowship is particularly well-suited to recent doctoral graduates considering careers outside the academy in roles emphasizing successful translation of research into practice.
The successful candidate will work in English in the research group of the chair at the University of Versailles Saint Quentin-en-Yvelines, located just outside Versailles, France. Candidates will be well-positioned to work in collaborative research projects with the non-academic partners of the chair, in collaboration with university-sector members of the Paris-region university consortium UniverSud Paris, and international partners of the chair. Opportunities also exist for contribution to teaching in the Econoving programme’s International Professional Master in Management of Eco-Innovation.
This Postdoctoral Fellowship is a two-year (24 month) post, supported by a salary of €30,000 per year net, €2000 moving expense allowance, and expenses of the candidate's travel to France at the time of appointment. Assistance will also be provided for travel to conferences to present research results, and for the conduct of research. We will assist the candidate in finding suitable housing.
Informal inquiries may be directed to the chair-holder, Professor Keith Culver, at Keith.Culver@universud-paris.fr. Complete applications must be submitted electronically by e-mail to Econoving@uvsq.fr, including in PDF format a (maximum) 2-page outline of proposed research, Ph.D. transcripts, writing sample (preferably a first-author or sole-authored paper), and names of three academic referees.
