2010/2011 Academic Year Schedule

  • Optional Practical Training (OPT)

These workshops will be a detailed discussion on OPT for F-1 graduate students. Topics covered will include when to apply, how to apply, required paperwork, SEVIS implications, time frames and what to expect. All graduate students with an interest in OPT are welcome; however, students close to finishing their programs will probably benefit the most. F-1 students may file for OPT up to 90 days prior to and up to 60 days after completion of their program. However, an OPT start date may not be more than 60 days after the program end date.

**Master's degree candidates finishing at the end of spring semester should be advised that their official program completion date is commencement - not the end date on their I-20 (June 30). Several OPT session will be held.
