*GRE General Test is offered as a paper-based test in the U.S., Canada, and many other countries. Be sure to visit the GRE web site, or pick up an official GRE registration bulletin in Career Services.

GRE Subject tests are paper-based tests in 8 subject areas: Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology; Biology; Chemistry; Computer Science; Literature in English; Mathematics; Physics; Psychology. Check with your graduate program of interest to determine whether the Subject Test is an application requirement.

The GMAT is basically offered year-round at a number of official testing centers. One must schedule an appointment when you wish to take the exam by contacting a testing center. See the links below for details.

Standardized Test Information:

If you are planning to apply to graduate or professional school, there are many websites worth checking out. These can be very helpful in answering questions about standardized tests and particular universities.

1. Educational Testing Service The ETS website is a gateway to information about graduate school admissions tests (with links to sites for the GRE, GMAT, & TOEFL) as well as other educational resources. This site provides sample test questions, test preparation, and test registration. It also contains information on ETS research initiatives, teacher certification, college planning, financial aid, and links to college and university sites.

2. Graduate Record Examination This website is dedicated to the GRE. It contains everything you need to know about the GRE including test dates, online registration for both paper-based and computer-based tests, sample test questions, frequently asked questions, free publications to download, and a testing center list.

3. Graduate Management Admission Test This website is dedicated to the GMAT and MBA programs. It contains information about the GMAT including test dates, online registration, sample test questions, a practice test, a guide to MBA programs, financial aid information, and preparation materials for sale through the "MBA Store."

4. Law School Admision Test This website is dedicated to the LSAT and JD programs. It contains information about the LSAT including test dates, online registration, a sample test, preparation materials, frequently asked questions, publications, software and videos, law school links, financial aid information, recruitment forums, and information on the Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS).

5. Association of American Medical Colleges This website is maintained by the AAMC and has extensive information on the medical profession. It also contains all of the information you'll need if you are interested in applying to medical schools. From the home page, click on the heading that says "Student, Applicant, and Advisor Information." This page will have general course requirements for admission, suggestions and tips to make the process more manageable, electronic applications, registration for the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT), financial aid information, and links to various schools' home pages.

6. Foreign Service Exam - Visit the U.S. Department of State web site for information about employment options and application requirements (including the Foreign Service Exam). This exam is usually given only once per year.
