About Us
The Office of Religion embodies Princeton University’s care and support for the
many religious communities that flourish on its campus. We seek to support all religious
traditions in the practice and expression of their faith, and we strongly encourage interfaith dialogue and cooperation. We also seek, through our own programs and in collaboration with others, to
provide opportunities for community service, cross-cultural understanding, and constructive social action.
Murray-Dodge Hall houses the Religious Life offices, the Student Volunteers Council (SVC), the Murray-Dodge Cafe, the Muslim Prayer Room, an interfaith meditation room, and a number of Chaplains’ offices. It also provides space for a wide variety of worship services, student meetings, study, and informal gatherings. The Center for Jewish Life (CJL) offers programs and services for the Jewish community on campus. Ecumenical
Christian services are held in the University Chapel on Sunday mornings, with sermons preached by the deans of Religious Life and special guests, and music provided by the Chapel Choir. Opening Exercises and the Baccalaureate Service also take place in the University Chapel. The Chapel is open daily for prayer and meditation from 7 a.m. - 11 p.m. (7 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. during breaks, and 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the summer). We encourage you to take part in many of our worship opportunities, programs, and student religious organizations.
