The Rev. Dr. Alison L. Boden The Rev. Dr. Alison L. Boden serves as Dean of Religious Life and the Chapel. She received an A.B. from Vassar, an M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from the University of Bradford (UK). An actress before turning to ministry, Dr. Boden also earned a diploma from the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York. She has since served as Dean of the Chapel and Sr. Lecturer at the University of Chicago and as University Chaplain at Bucknell University. Her writing and teaching interests have focused on such topics as human rights and religion, religion and violence, religion in the academy, and a variety of social justice issues. She is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ.

The Rev. Deborah K. Blanks earned a B.A. from Rutgers University, Douglass College, a Master of Theology degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a Master of Divinity degree from The Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to entering the world of university chaplaincy, she served as a United States Navy chaplain. Prior to coming to Princeton to serve as the Associate Dean of Religious Life and the Chapel, Rev. Blanks was the Assistant University Chaplain at Brown University. She is an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

The Rev. Paul B. Raushenbush studied religion at Macalester College before attending Union Theological Seminary in New York City, where he graduated with honors. An ordained American Baptist minister, Rev. Raushenbush has served at the Presbyterian Chaplaincy at Columbia University and at The Riverside Church in New York City. His work at Princeton University, where he serves as the Associate Dean of Religious Life and the Chapel, includes the focus of strengthening the interfaith community on campus. He is a contributing editor at Beliefnet.com.

Penna Rose is the Director of Chapel Music at Princeton, where she oversees the musical program at the University Chapel and directs the 80-member Chapel Choir. She is also an Artist-in-Residence at Union Theological Seminary in New York City. Ms. Rose has conducted at Seiji Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood and
Carnegie Hall in New York as well as on Broadway. Ms. Rose holds degrees from Michigan State University and Union Theological Seminary.

Eric Plutz is the University Organist and performs at the Chapel’s weekly services, as well as acts as the accompanist for the Chapel Choir during concerts, official University services, and solo concerts. Mr. Plutz is the coordinator for the weekly After Noon Concert Series at the University Chapel and the monthly Concert Series at the Graduate College. He earned a Bachelor of Music from Westminster Choir College of Rider University and a Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music.

Lucy Mitchell resides in Hamilton, NJ. She has been employed at Princeton University for 16 years, and has worked as a Sexton at the Chapel for 6 years. Bernie LaFleur was born in Newark, NJ, and currently lives in PA. He has been a Sexton at the Chapel for 6 years following his transfer from the Dept. of Public Safety. Lucy and Bernie take care of the liturgical and logistic preparations for services and events held at the Chapel. They also work to provide a clean, safe and inviting place for everyone.

Liz Powers is the Chapel Administrator, and in addition to her administrative duties which support the Chapel and its work, schedules and coordinates the many varied events which take place in the chapel. She has been employed at the University for 18 years and has held the position of Chapel Administrator for the past 3 1/2years.
