Bloodborne Pathogens

Training

Those with potential exposure to BBPs must receive training that provides the necessary information to understand and accept the risks associated with the job and that meets the requirements of the OSHA Standard. Training must be provided:

  • initially at the time of assignment to tasks that involve exposure
  • annually thereafter
  • whenever there are changes or modification of tasks or procedures that affect exposure.

This web-based training is intended to meet the basic training needs. It is up to the individual group or department to provide the site-specific instruction and the additional training necessary when changes or modifications to tasks or procedures are made.
