Live Virus Worker Web Training

Welcome to the Test Section of the Live Virus Worker Training

Now that you have completed the Live Virus Worker Training Module, you may finish this training activity by proceeding to the Test Section.  The Test Section provides you the opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of the basics of biological safety and its application to work with live viruses and the protocols established for such work at Princeton University.

Source of Test Questions and Format

The questions for the Test are taken directly from the Live Virus Worker Training Module that you have completed.  The test consists of 20 multiple choice questions and is designed so that you must choose the correct answer before you are allowed to move to the next question.  If you answer a question incorrectly, the computer screen will direct you to the portion of the Training Module which addresses the correct answer.  You may then use the ‘Back’ key at the top of the computer screen to return to the question and select the correct answer.  When you have chosen the correct answer, a message will  indicate a correct response and you may then click on “Go to Next Question’ to proceed.

Quitting the Test

At any point you may quit the test, but you will not be able to save the work you have done up to that point.  If you quit the test before completing it and return later, you will need to start the test again from the first question.

Submitting the Test Results

When you reach the end of the test, you will be prompted to complete a form with your name, e-mail address, and Principal Investigator and submit it electronically to EHS.  This will complete your test registration.

After the Test (Medical Review with Employee Health)

After finishing the test, you will be directed to the information and forms needed to complete your entry into the Live Virus Worker Program.  These include the following steps:

1. Review any special health and safety measures or procedures established by your PI for this virus work.

2. Complete the Live Virus Worker Personnel Information Form, Sections A and B and the Health History Form.

3. Review, sign, and date the Notice and Acknowledgment form.

4. Provide your PI with the completed Personnel Information Form for signature and take this along with the completed Acknowledgment and Health History forms to Employee Health for your medical review.

5. Arrange an appointment with Employee Health at 258-5035 to review your medical history and complete any necessary serum draw and titering.

6. Subsequently, inform Employee Health of any change in your immune status due to illness or medical treatment, pregnancy, or exposure to live virus by injury or accident.

*A Navigational Reminder*

Please remember:  if you answer a question incorrectly, you will be given the opportunity to go back to the Training Module to review the information.  To return to the test, you should click on the ‘Back’ button at the top of your browser toolbar.
