10: Chemical Waste Disposal

EHS coordinates disposal of chemical waste from University operations. The cost of waste disposal is borne by EHS, rather than the individual departments, in part to eliminate the incentive not to use this procedure for disposing of chemical waste.

Anyone using chemicals that may need to be disposed as hazardous waste is expected to understand the procedures for identification, packaging, storage and disposal. This information is included in the Chemical Waste Disposal section of this web page.
