SECTION 3: Barricades & Signs
The use of barricades and signs is an important part of any job. Barricades should act as physical barriers, preventing contact by passers-by with the hazards created by construction or maintenance activities, while signs should be used to direct traffic, both vehicular and pedestrian, safely through or around the work site. While barricades and signs should be used wherever necessary for the physical protection of people or property, the following is a list of activities where their use is required by code or regulation:
