Table 1 is a copy of Appendix C of "10 CFR Part 20" and applies to any radioisotopes used under a Nuclear Regulatory Commission license. Table 2 is a copy of the table found in paragraph 10.9 of the New Jersey Radiation Protection Code and applies to any naturally occurring or accelerator-produced radioisotopes used under a license issued by the State of New Jersey.

        *The quantities listed above were derived by taking 1/10th of the most restrictive ALI listed in Table 1, columns 1 and 2, of appendix B to 10CFR20.1001 - 20.2401, rounding to the nearest factor of 10, and arbitrarily constraining the values listed between 0.001 and 1,000 m Ci. Values of 100 m Ci have been assigned for radionuclides having a radioactive half-life in excess of 109 years (except rheinium, 1000 m Ci) to take into account their low specific activity.

        NOTE: For purposes of 10CFR20.1902(e), 20.1905(a), and 20.2201(a) where there is involved a combination of radionuclides in known amounts, the limit for the combination should be derived as follows: determine, for each radionuclide in the combination, the ratio between the quantity present in the combination and the limit otherwise established for the specific radionuclide when not in combination. The sum of such ratios for all radionuclides in the combination may not exceed "1" (i.e., "unity").
