Maintenance Work

Departments in which "Sources of Radiation" are used shall insure that University maintenance personnel are informed of that fact and that they are advised to consult with the "Authorized User" and the "Health Physicist" before commencing work. Maintenance work and certain custodial services, such a repairs to fume hoods in which radioactive materials have been used, plumbing repairs to sinks, janitorial services during the cleanup of spills, etc, should be done only after such consultation with, and in some cases, under the direct supervision of Health Physics personnel.
