| FLORENT MASSE (M.A. Université de Lille III) is a Lecturer of French and the Director of L’Atelier, the French Theater Workshop. He trained as an actor and director at Lille National Theater under Daniel Mesguich and later pursued his theater studies at Amherst College, MA as a Levy-Despas Fellow (1999-2001). This is when he created the program of L’Atelier which originally mixes linguistic and dramatic training. At Princeton, Florent Masse has directed Molière’s Le Tartuffe (2005), Racine’s Andromaque (2005), Feydeau’s Le Dindon (2004) and Un fil à la patte (2006), as well as Marivaux’s Le Jeu de l’amour et du hasard (2006) and Koltes’ Dans la solitude des champs de coton (2002). In the spring of 2007, he will stage Racine’s Phèdre and Molière’s Le Malade imaginaire. He collaborates to Princeton University Center for French Studies at Princeton, and has lectured extensively on the program of L’Atelier at various institutions. |
