Departmental Prizes for Undergraduates


The following prizes are awarded by the Department of French and Italian at the Class Day Reception in June.

Senior Prizes

Prix du Cercle Français de Princeton ($400 for the best senior thesis in French)

R. Percy Alden Prize ($800 shared between the best junior and best senior in French)

Senior Thesis Prize of the Gruppo Esponenti Italiani ($400 for the best thesis in Italian)

André Maman Senior Thesis Prize ($400 for an outstanding thesis on the culture, economy, history, politics or society of France; open to seniors from all departments)

Other Prizes

Dorothea vanDyke McLane Prize ($1,000 for outstanding freshmen in Italian)

R. Percy Alden Prize (see above)

Gordon Schwartz Fund (up to $1000; travel grants in Italian)
