Medieval Latin
Literature
Professor Stella is a pioneer in “digital philology” — a term that covers the gamut of ideas, techniques and skills involved in editing texts on line or on CD-Rom. These media have revolutionized the idea of what an edition can be and what kinds of information it can convey. During his October visit as Oates Fellow, Stella will offer a workshop on digital editing and talk about another of his specialties, the relation of music and lyrics from the Middle Ages to the present.
