Welcome to the Office of the General Counsel ("OGC") at Princeton. The General Counsel, Peter G. McDonough,
is the University's chief legal advisor. The OGC's attorneys provide
counsel to officers and departments of the University requiring legal
assistance; serve as legal representatives for the University in litigation,
administrative matters, and transactions; and retain, oversee and provide
liaison with outside counsel engaged on behalf of the University. Each of
the office's attorneys serves a varied University constituency. The Areas
of Practice page on this site offers a rough overview of our attorneys'
primary areas of focus.
Also included in the OGC is the Office of Visa Services.
Directed by Mary F. Idzior, this office is responsible for immigration advising
and the processing of documents for international graduate students, faculty,
and research and technical staff.
