Summer Staff Positions

Do you want to work with underserved inner-city youth? Do you love the outdoors? Then a summer job at the Princeton Blairstown Center is for you! Our Blairstown, New Jersey campus is situated on 263 acres of land near the Delaware Water Gap. It contains various adventure course activities designed to promote development of self-esteem, self-respect, respect for others, as well as decision-making and problem solving skills.
Our Summer Staff actively engage youth in unique and exciting experiences and focused reflections in order to increase knowledge, develop skills and clarify values. Depending on training and need, various roles and responsibilities available include:
Summer Facilitators
Responsible for the well being of participants. Facilitators may live and cook onsite with their groups. They facilitate adventure activities, including but not limited to: games, initiative problems, rappelling, high ropes courses, environmental education activities, canoeing, hiking, and swimming. Off-site programming includes co-facilitation of 1-3 night backpacking or canoe expeditions. Summer facilitators may be asked to serve in a support role when necessary.
Waterfront Staff
Responsible for implementing safe operating procedures for all water-related activities, maintaining the boating and canoeing equipment, and serving as primary lifeguards on duty. Lifeguard certification is required in supervising all water-related activities.
Support Staff
Support Staff do a variety of tasks that help make our programming run smoothly. Support staff fill in for instructors, work on the waterfront, set up/break down and facilitate the high ropes course, check in/out gear from the equipment room, and help maintain the day to day operations of the facility. They also rotate serving on the overnight patrol team when participants are in cabins.
