Aquene Freechild has been doing advocacy and
development work for the International Campaign for Justice in Bhopal and
the Dow Accountability Network since 2004. The Bhopal campaign uses
grassroots, shareholder, student and legal strategies to obtain criminal
justice, clean water, rehabilitation, and medical care for the survivors of
the 1984 Union Carbide Gas Leak that has killed 22,000 people in the past 23
years. The Dow Accountability Network works to hold Dow Chemical responsible
for all of its toxic legacies and toxic products. Ms. Freechild also works
for the Environmental Health Fund, which works at many levels of the
environmental health movement - building and participating in strategic
coalitions for comprehensive chemical policy reform and a toxic free future.
