J.D., University of California, Berkeley, 1985; University of Stockholm, 1986; B. Phil.,Oxford, 1990; D.Phil., Oxford, 2001. Joined the faculty in the fall of 2000. Before coming to Princeton, he served as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice; worked as a federal prosecutor; and was Junior Research Fellow in Philosophy at Jesus College, Oxford; . His interests include philosophy of mind, cognitive science, moral philosophy, and philosophy of law.
