Who we are and what we do

The members of the University's Office of Community and Regional Affairs (CRA) wear many different hats, while serving as liaisons between the University and the county and local governments, as well as between the University community (faculty/staff/students) and the residents of the University's neighboring communities.  Kristin Appelget, director, Community and Regional Affairs, Karen Woodbridge, director, Community Relations, Blanche Scioli, office manager, Erin Metro, office assistant and Susan Weinkopff, coordinator for the Community Auditing Program and the Program in Continuing Education, bridge the "town and gown" in dozens of different ways throughout the year.

The CRA Office has full responsibility for the “Community Ties” brochure, the “Community Auditing Program” brochure, the “Program in Continuing Education” brochure and major responsibility for the “Princeton Profile” and the special community issues of the “Princeton Weekly Bulletin.” The directors serve on several community organization boards focused on transportation, community development, regional planning, social services, education, to underscore the University’s desire to be an involved community citizen.

CRA also plays a major role in local and regional economic development, environmental, transportation, and science research issues.  All members of the CRA team work to serve as the public’s first point of contact – answering questions, providing links to University resources and helping the University be a responsive and responsible neighbor and citizen of the region.
