In December of 2003,  the  EU Community Development Trust Fund approved funding for the construction of an eco-tourism lodge on the Il Motiok group ranch, a local Masai community.   A kitchen and 6 bandas ( thatched roof lodges) are currently under construction.   The  bandas are called  the Ol Gaboli Bandas after the sacred Gaboli tree which dominates the site.

The Il Motiok Women's Group is a local community group that is in charge of the micro-credit project.

Professor Soboyejo from Princeton University visited the site in January 2005 and initiated two solar energy projects to help the lodge.  The first is a battery based lighting system charged from solar panels.  The second project is a water filtration system for the loge's swimming pool powered by solar energy.
