The Princeton Chapter of Sigma Xi:

• Recognizes outstanding Student Research with Awards and Invitations to Membership
• Hosts a Series of Science Lectures, and 
• Supports science education at schools near Princeton.

As it is a primary objective of our society to advocate greater communication and understanding among all scientists, the Princeton Chapter of Sigma Xi recently sponsored its first annual poster competition for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows of the Princeton University community. Participants were judged on the basis of quality of communication to a general scientific audience. The judges for the event were:

• David C. Parris, President, Princeton Chapter of Sigma Xi, and Director, Science Bureau, N.J. State Museum

• Judith A. Swan, Lecturer and Assistant Director for Scientific and Technical Writing, Princeton Writing Program

• Andrew P. Zwicker,  Head of Science Education, Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, and  Lecturer, Princeton Writing Program
