Information for New Graduate  Students 2009 - 2010

 

  • Document information

Decisions regarding accepting Princeton's offer of admission are to be returned to Graduate Admissions by April 15.  At this time, you will also return the Application for a Certificate of Visa Eligibility (mailed to you with your admission packet) to the Office of Visa Services. After your academic department confirms your program start date, the Office of Visa Services will issue your visa eligibility document (I-20 or DS-2019). Documents will be mailed (via regular airmail) to students beginning in early May to mid June. Priority mail would need to be arranged with the academic department.  Please do not make individual inquiries about your document before June 1.

  • Transfer Students

If you will be transferring your visa status to Princeton from another institution in the U.S., please see our transfer form. The international advisor at your current institution should complete this form and return it to the Office of Visa Services. For general transfer information, click here.

  • International Graduate Student Orientation

Ice Cream Social for all new international graduate students will be held on Wednesday, September 9 at 7:00 pm in the Common Room of the Old Graduate College.

  • General Information

International Graduate Students with graduate housing planning to attend orientation may begin moving on the weekend before Orientation. Please inform the Graduate Housing staff regarding your arrival date at Princeton. You may notify them via email, gradhsg@princeton.edu or by telephone, (609) 258-3721.

Graduate School Orientation will be held on Tuesday, September 15 from 10 am to 1 pm in Richardson Auditorium.

Make-up International Student Orientation for any student who is unable to attend the main program will be held following the Graduate School Orientation on September 15, 1:00 to 3:00 pm in East Pyne010New Graduate Student Sign-In will be held on Wednesday, September 16 from 9 am to 12 pm in Chancellor Green Rotunda, East Pyne.
